It has been a privilege to have served as Assistant Principal of PS 153Q for nine years. This is to inform you that I will be retiring at the end of January. As I reflect back to my first day I recall the warm welcome and sincere good luck wishes that I received. I was very touched when one of the staff members mentioned that it seemed as if I had been here all along because I fit right in. I believe that is due to the hospitable nature of our teachers, parents, administrators and students and their desire to be helpful to all who enter Maspeth Elementary School.
I reflect upon the accomplishments of our students over the years and joyfully report that there have been many. We've observed the first steps of your children from prekindergarten to their last ones upon graduation from sixth grade. These strides were made with you unwavering support as well as with the support of the highly committed teachers, service providers, paraprofessionals and administrators at our outstanding school.
I believe that the level of commitment to help each and every child iss unsurpassed at our school. Our principal Mrs, Bauer, holds everyone to a high standard and embraces the needs of each student to ensure that their educational and social needs are recognized and addressed. I was fortunate to work alongside her and hold a great respect for the leadership she provides at PS 153Q. Also, my colleagues, Assistant Principals Mrs, Voogt, Mrs. Murphy and Mr. Willard have worked with dedication in order to strengthen the school's core and it was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to plan and work with them over the years.
I'm wishing you good luck, good health and much more success as your children continue their academics at PS 153Q and work to attain skills which prepare them for college and their careers. I will miss this school community and all that it represents but I walk away with a skip in my step for I have great hopes for your children's futures!
